How this office is filled
The assembly comprises 35 members directly elected for four years by proportional representation in a single cantonal constituency.
- Cantonal voters
Elect assembly members directly by secret ballot throughout the canton.
- Central Election Commission of BiH
Allocates seats to lists proportionally to votes and then to candidates under the preference-vote and list-order rules.
- Cantonal assembly
Is convened no later than ten days after publication of election results.
- Constituent-peoples caucuses and the assembly
Each caucus nominates one candidate for speaker or deputy; the assembly confirms the candidates, who decide among themselves who will be speaker.
The assembly has 35 members; its term lasts four years.
Electoral contestants must win more than 3% of valid votes to participate in seat allocation; quotients use divisors 1, 3, 5, 7 and so on.
Within a list, candidates with at least 20% of the list’s votes are ranked first by preference votes; remaining seats follow list order.
A constituent-people caucus is formed when it has at least one member; an unrepresented people’s deputy-speaker position remains vacant.
A newly elected member continuing a previous executive function suspends the legislative mandate before the constitutive sitting; the next candidate on the same list replaces them.
No individual election or appointment date is stated in this record. The general procedure is not evidence of an individual election or appointment.

Elected in 2026 · 2026–2030 · as of 3 November 2026
Elected on 4 October 2026; results confirmed on 3 November 2026. The body has not yet been constituted.
Source coverage: 97 of 98 seats in the body.
Note on this list
Elected at the general elections of 4 October 2026, according to the results the Central Election Commission confirmed on 3 November 2026. The body has not been constituted yet. A mandate passes to the next candidate if an elected person refuses it or suspends it, so the composition can change before the constituting session. CIK prints candidates' names in capitals; they are shown here in normal case, and where CIK's results export gives a name in Cyrillic, that original is kept as well. List names are shown as CIK publishes them; those published in Cyrillic are transliterated into Latin script. According to CIK's statement of 24 Oct 2026, the 14th compensatory mandate (coalition HDZ BiH, HSS SR, HSP BiH, HKDU, HSP AS, HDU, HSP HB, HRAST) remains vacant because the list is exhausted; CIK is requesting a supplementary list. The results export (CSV) also marks Željko Nedić of that coalition in electoral unit 2 as elected; he is not listed here until CIK publishes how that mandate is filled.

- House of Representatives
First convenes no later than 20 days after election results are published; elects its leadership and adopts its rules.
The house has 98 seats and a four-year term unless dissolved. Each constituent people must have at least four representatives.
73 seats are allocated in 12 multi-member constituencies and 25 are Federation-wide compensatory seats.
Lists below 3% of valid constituency votes do not participate in allocation. Votes are divided by odd numbers 1, 3, 5, 7 and so on, with seats awarded to the highest quotients.
A continuing executive officeholder from the previous term must suspend the new legislative mandate before the constitutive session; the next candidate on the same list replaces them.
Each house adopts its rules and elects a speaker and two deputy speakers by majority vote; they may not be from the same constituent people or the Others.
The prime minister and speakers of the two houses must belong to different constituent peoples or the Others; following the Federation president’s election and prime minister’s appointment, the houses ensure compliance.
Parliamentary decisions require both houses’ approval unless the Constitution provides otherwise; each house adopts its own rules and declarations.
The other house is expected to act within 45 days; otherwise the law must appear on its next session’s agenda, no later than 30 days after that deadline.
No individual election or appointment date is stated in this record. The general procedure is not evidence of an individual election or appointment.
