Current officeholders

Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Minister

Current officeholders · 2022–2026 · as of 3 November 2026

Note on this list

Coverage is 19 people: the chairwoman, eight ministers and ten deputy ministers (Defence has two). The security minister position is unfilled following acceptance of Nenad Nešić’s resignation in January 2025; Ivica Bošnjak remains deputy minister and temporarily performs ministerial duties under Article 14. Srđan Amidžić replaced Zoran Tegeltija on 22 August 2023; Staša Košarac became deputy chair that day, while the date shown for him marks the start of his ministerial term. Party labels are those in the official appointment announcement of 25 January 2023, except Amidžić (biography) and Janjić (a media report of 3 July 2026 lists him among new SPS members); they do not establish that no other later membership changes occurred. HSS has not been reliably linked to a party registry entry. The consolidated official composition PDF was unavailable; appointment confirmations and ministry news underpin this snapshot. The migrated Nešić announcement displays 27 January 2025, whereas media report 28 January; the precise day is therefore not asserted.

How this office is filled

The Presidency of BiH nominates the chair and the House of Representatives confirms the appointment. The chair then nominates ministers and deputy ministers, who take office following confirmation by the House of Representatives.

  1. Presidency of BiH

Nominates the Council chair for each new parliamentary term, no later than 15 days after the House of Representatives’ constitutive session, and immediately submits the decision to the House.

  2. SIPA, CEC BiH and the Committee for Preparing the Election of the Council of Ministers

SIPA verifies the prescribed declarations, the CEC certifies legal eligibility, and the Committee recommends whether the House should confirm the candidate. The Committee has three days for the chair and eight days for ministers and deputies from receipt of the information.

  3. House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH

Confirms the chair’s appointment; the chair takes office on confirmation. The House decides within three days of receiving the Committee recommendation.

  4. Chair of the Council of Ministers

Within 35 days of confirmation of their appointment, nominates ministers and deputy ministers and seeks House confirmation. Also appoints two ministers as deputy chairs.

  5. House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH

Confirms ministers, deputy ministers and the two deputy chairs. Ministers and deputy ministers take office immediately upon confirmation.

  6. The chair, Presidency and Parliamentary Assembly of BiH

The chair submits a resignation to the Presidency; ministers and deputies submit theirs to the chair. The Presidency may propose dismissal of the chair, and the chair may initiate dismissal of a minister or deputy; dismissal requires a Parliamentary Assembly decision. The Assembly may vote no confidence in the Council.

House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH

Elected in 2026 · 2026–2030 · as of 3 November 2026

Elected on 4 October 2026; results confirmed on 3 November 2026. The body has not yet been constituted.

Source coverage: 97 of 98 seats in the body.

Note on this list

Elected at the general elections of 4 October 2026, according to the results the Central Election Commission confirmed on 3 November 2026. The body has not been constituted yet. A mandate passes to the next candidate if an elected person refuses it or suspends it, so the composition can change before the constituting session. CIK prints candidates' names in capitals; they are shown here in normal case, and where CIK's results export gives a name in Cyrillic, that original is kept as well. List names are shown as CIK publishes them; those published in Cyrillic are transliterated into Latin script. According to CIK's statement of 24 Oct 2026, the 14th compensatory mandate (coalition HDZ BiH, HSS SR, HSP BiH, HKDU, HSP AS, HDU, HSP HB, HRAST) remains vacant because the list is exhausted; CIK is requesting a supplementary list. The results export (CSV) also marks Željko Nedić of that coalition in electoral unit 2 as elected; he is not listed here until CIK publishes how that mandate is filled.
