How it is appointed / elected
The Assembly has 35 directly elected representatives serving four-year terms. Constituent-peoples caucuses nominate its leadership.

Directly elect representatives by secret ballot throughout the canton for four years.

Each caucus nominates one candidate for chair or deputy chair; the Assembly confirms them.

Decide among themselves who will be chair.
Conditions and constraints
The Assembly has 35 seats and representatives serve four-year terms.
If a constituent people has no representative, the corresponding deputy-chair position remains vacant.
Legislation requires a majority of all elected representatives; vital national interests follow a special procedure involving caucus majorities and possible referral to the FBiH Constitutional Court.
