How it is appointed / elected
The assembly speaker nominates the prime minister candidate after consulting the deputy speakers; the candidate proposes ministers and the assembly confirms the government.

Conditions and constraints
Confirmation requires a majority of all assembly representatives. The government’s composition reflects the canton’s ethnic population composition (Article 38).
The assembly may pass a vote of no confidence in the government (V.B.3 or Article 39).
