How it is appointed / elected
The assembly has 30 directly elected representatives serving four-year terms. Seats are allocated proportionally under the BiH Election Law.

Elect representatives directly by secret ballot.
- BiH Central Election Commission
Allocates seats to lists under Article 9.5 and candidates under Article 13.5(4).
Conditions and constraints
The assembly has 30 seats (Constitution: V.A.2).
The term is four years (Election Law, Article 13.11).
The speaker and deputies are selected through constituent-peoples’ caucuses; if a people is not represented, its deputy post remains vacant (Constitution V.A.7 / Article 22).
